Geneva BreweryWhile New York’s Finger Lakes region has become synonymous with “world-class wine country,” the nation’s rising craft beer scene has officially arrived here in beautiful Geneva, NY. In fact, several of the most popular Seneca Lake breweries are just a short jaunt from Belhurst Castle. Despite the fact that we were recently named a “World’s Best Wine Hotel” by Wine Enthusiast, the savvy, ultra-talented staff at Belhurst Castle knew that the recent uptick in brewing popularity is not just a fad—craft beer is here to stay. Thus, we introduced Mabel’s Oat Soda Co., the newest Geneva brewery.

The Top 4 Breweries in Geneva, NY

While we highly recommend enjoying a flight of our house brews right here at the Belhurst Estate Winery, feel free to explore a neighboring Geneva brewery during your well-deserved Finger Lakes escape. There are dozens of Finger Lakes breweries within an hour of Belhurst Castle, so you won’t have to drive more than six miles to savor a fresh-poured pint of beer.

Geneva Brewery

Mabel’s Oat Soda Co.

The newest Geneva brewery is located here at Belhurst Castle, home to Mabel’s Oat Soda Co. To ensure that our patrons are receiving an authentic yet unique taproom experience, we built a brand new tasting bar where you can sip (or gulp) a juicy New England-style IPA, smooth blonde ale, or roasty porter. We’re officially canning our three flagship beers, so you can return home with a four-pack of pounders. And, yes, we also sell growlers.

WeBe Brewing Company

For those aiming to visit an off-site Geneva brewery, your first stop should be WeBe Brewing Company on Pre Emption Road. Their down-to-earth, industrial-style building is the perfect spot for an afternoon pint of “Hazed for Days,” a glorious double dry-hopped New England-style double IPA. If you’re hoping to sip on something sweeter, WeBe’s “Golden Peel,” a soft, light hefeweizen, is bound to satisfy your taste buds.

Lake Drum Brewing

Lake Drum Brewing is the only downtown Geneva brewery, making it a popular hangout for travelers and locals alike during all four seasons. Beer aficionados instantly fall in love with Lake Drum’s old-world charm, particularly the red brick exterior, metalworks, and cozy on-site library. Sixty percent of their ingredients are grown on farms in New York, according to brewmaster Rick Morse. While you never know what they’ll be brewing next, some of our recent favorites include the Bowen Porter, Cicada Haze, and whichever sour is on tap.

Bottomless Brewing

It’s not often you find a fully functional brewery operating out of an aged, preserved barn surrounded by crops. Bottomless Brewing offers something unique to “hopheads” aiming to get their hands on the next best beer. They’re known for their award-winning Soda Bread Red, Bohemian Pilsner, and Bourbon Barrel Aged Barley Wine, but you’ll find just about anything under the sun at this secluded farmland hidden gem.
