Belhurst Estate Winery - Historical Wine

CARRIECarrie Blush Wine

With magnificent style and grace, Carrie Collins created Belhurst in 1889. Her polished soirees and flare for the extraordinary earned her a reputation far exceeding many in the area.  Carrie's Castle on the lake became known for it's beauty, charm and romantic legends which exist to this day. Sugared strawberry, cotton candy and pineapple aromas tumble forth from this lovely rose colored wine. The soft body imparts bubble gum flavors in light acidity, finishing with apricots and peaches.  A delightful sipping wine, Carrie can also please the palate with cream cheese on flatbread, citrus dressed salads, Mexican food, Chicken French, or flan.

RedRED, 2009
2010 Long Beach Grand Cru International Wine Competition - Gold

This lively wine with a velvety texture is the echo of a handshake from the Squire himself.  A smooth caramel bouquet opens into bold brandied figs with noticeable oak overtones.  The light semi-dry body glides forward into black cherries & cinnamon.  The delicious silken mouthfeel brightens to a light peppery finish.  Pair Red with Swedish meatballs, grilled lamb, stuffed mushroom caps & red velvet cake!

We're sure Red would approve!

Neptune Wine

NEPTUNE, 2009

The nose starts with creamy essences of vanilla and apricot, mingling with overripe cantaloupe.  The lovely repening apricot dances on the palate wity subtle hints of mineral and a generous splash of green apple.  This tasty unique blend of Riesling, Pinot Blanc, Chardonnay & Gewurztraminer is tasty on its own or with a meal.  Partner Neptune with pineapple & chicken skewers, salad with cucumber wasabi dressing, crab cakes, Turkey a la King & biscuits, and cream pie.

A Great sipping wine!

Over a century ago, a pair of Golden Pheasants graced the lawns of Belhurst and were the prize possession of Carrie Collins. So beautiful were these Pheasants rumored, people would travel from miles away just to take a gander.  Golden Pheasant, a luscious crisp semi-sweet blend of Sevyal and Chardonnay, has a nose of juicy peaches with essence of white flowers, opening up to banana and ripe pineapple.  Honeysuckle and more peach in a rounded body are on the palate with a floral, mineral, and citrus finish.  This wine pairs with tropical fruit salad, broiled whitefish with bechamel, jerk seasoned seafood, or creme caramel.
