November 20, 2014 (GENEVA, NEW YORK) — Belhurst Estate Winery president Mr. Duane Reeder proudly announces winning eight wine awards at two different competitions. Five awards were received at the 2014 American Wine Society Competition, and three awards were received at the 2014 New York Wine & Food Classic Competition.

Belhurst Estate Winery took five wine awards at the American Wine Society Commercial Competition. This competition requires year-long preparation, and proceeds of the competition go towards college-level wine research scholarships. A wide spectrum of judges were handpicked from industry-professionals, marketers, marketers, and wine makers. All wines were judged blind and by panel consensus.

Weeks earlier at the 2014 New York Wine & Food Classic, 2013 Semi Dry Riesling took a double gold medal, while 2013 Dry Riesling and 2012 Pinot Noir both took gold medals. This year's competition included 835 New York wines, 20 Hard Ciders and 8 Spirits from several regions across New York State including Long Island, Hudson Valley, Finger Lakes, Niagara Escarpment and Lake Erie. In the 29th year of the New York Wine & Food Classic, the competition was open to all 363 New York wineries from all regions.
