BELHURST WINES RECEIVE SEVERAL DOUBLE GOLD AWARDS

October 10, 2015 (GENEVA, NEW YORK) – Belhurst Estate Winery president Mr. Duane Reeder proudly announces winning a total of 14 wine medals at the 2015 New York State Wine and Food Classic, and the 2015 Tasters Guild Consumers' Wine Competition. Three of these medals were double gold.

Known as the “Oscar’s of Wine”, the New York Wine and Food Classic competition saw over 900 entries in its 30th year. This highly competitive competition saw 21 expert wine judges from all over the world who were judging the wines based on blind tastings. To receive a Double Gold award, a wine must receive a unanimous Gold award rom the judge’s panel. This year Belhurst wines received one double gold, one gold and three silver awards from this competition.

Weeks later in Grand Rapids Michigan at the 28th annual Tasters Guild Consumers' Wine Competition, Belhurst wines received 9 wine medals. 30 expert judges evaluated over 1,600 wines from seven countries and 32 different states. This competition completes a total wine evaluation process, randomly selecting nearly 35% of the entered wines for reevaluation. This process is completed to verify accuracy and fairness of medal considerations.
