Tuesday, February 1, 2011

GENEVA, NEW YORK — February may be known as the month of love, but at Belhurst Estate Winery it’s known as Chocolate and Wine Month. The delightful coupling of two frequent favorites is certainly cause for celebration and Belhurst has created various ways to do just that.

The Belhurst Winery Chocolate and Wine Specialty Pairing is truly a unique experience, giving the guest personalized attention from a wine expert as they are guided through six courses of chef-created CHOCOLATE INFUSED gourmet dishes paired with Belhurst’s award-winning wines. With dishes such as Braised Certified Black Angus Chili with Godiva Chocolate Liqueur or Warm German Chocolate Volcano Torte expertly paired with Belhurst’s award-winning wines, the hearts of chocolate lovers are sure to melt. A full menu of this pairing can be found at

Belhurst is also offering guests complimentary chocolate tastings when they sample Belhurst Wine. “Chocolate Month is my favorite month of the year,” said Kristine Fiorilla, Belhurst Wine & Gift Shop manager. “Who wouldn’t love dark chocolate covered, infused Syrah wine grapes at our tasting bar? Our guests are really surprised by our different approach to the otherwise ordinary “love” month! We love chocolate!”

To cap off the Wine & Chocolate month celebration, Belhurst Winery is giving away a Chocolate & Wine Gift Basket featuring a gift certificate to Isabella Spa. Guests may sign up to win in the Belhurst Wine & Gift Shop.

With a unique winery philosophy, the Belhurst Winery includes a committee of experts who carefully seek fruit, vineyards, wine varieties and winemakers who will contribute to the palette of wines sold by Belhurst. The committee continually collaborates with area winemakers to produce consistently high quality wines which quickly become Finger Lakes favorites. All Belhurst wines are available for tasting and purchase in the Belhurst Wine & Gift Shop on the shores of Seneca Lake, and for purchase on our website at Known for its charm, unique architecture, and stunning lake views, the Belhurst properties include Belhurst Castle, originally built in 1885; White Springs Manor and The Vinifera Inn.
