Belhurst Estate Winery Wine List
Carrie  With magnificent style and grace, Carrie Collins created Belhurst in 1889. Carrie blush blends bubble gum and ripe peach on the nose. The mouthfeel is semisweet, creamy, juicy peach and bright with a well balanced acid. The finish starts with lemon zest and leads to field strawberries and baker's dough. Carrie pairs well with brunch dishes, fruit salad, and spicy spring rolls. To be served at many charming gatherings! Vintage: 2008

Kicked out of school at the age of fourteen, Red spent ten years shoveling coal before dedicating his life to drinking, gambling, hospitality and the pursuit of happiness. His highly acclaimed operation in Saratoga Springs brought him famous, and infamous, clientele who would later flock from all over to enjoy nights at Belhurst.
This lively, bold red wine with a velvety texture is the echo of a handshake from the Squire himself. A palate-pleasing and sippable wine, Red pairs well with almost any casual dining dish!
 NEPTUNE Our Neptune is an intriguing, fun-forward blend of Gewurztraminer, Pinot Blanc and Chardonnay, showing hints of honey, pear, vanilla and almond. A wine full of tropical flavors and long lasting aftertaste, the Neptune pairs well with creamy seafood dishes like lobster Newburg, New England clam chowder or oyster stew. Also a great sipping wine!

GOLDEN PHEASANT Over a century ago, a pair of Golden Pheasants graced the lawns of Belhurst and were the prize possession of Carrie Collins. So beautiful were these Pheasants rumored, people would travel from miles away just to take a gander. This Golden Pheasant, a luscious crisp semi-sweet blend of Sevyal and Chardonnay, is sure to lure many wine lovers back for more.The color of light green grass, this refreshing wine has a nose full of sweet apple blossoms. In a perfect balance of stainless steel and oak, the finish is a floral and fruity perfume giving off a bit of a bubbly sensation. A wine to please sweet and dry drinkers, Golden Pheasant pairs magnificently with appetizers and cheese platters, veal, chicken and creamy dishes. 
Tower, 2006 The delicious nose of our Tower Port is full of cranberry and pine sap with a strong scent of dried Eucalyptus. With a juicy, grapey, mouth you can taste the full assortment of evergreen flavors. This rich, thick Port offers nuances of Brandy. The lingering finish leaves you with a fresh mint. Pair Tower Port with bleu cheeses, apple strudel and candied nuts.
Belhurst Dry Riesling, 2008 - SOLD OUT The herbaceous nose on our Dry Riesling whispers light hints of banana. As you first sip, a burst of effervescence hits your tongue. The finish gives a spicy, orange flavor with notes of mixed, soft tropical fruits. The chalk-like finish leads the way in being a food friendly wine. Partner this Dry Riesling with baked brie and apricots, Asian food, pulled pork dishes, and for dessert apple pie with cheddar cheese.
Belhurst Semi-Dry Riesling, 2008 - SOLD OUT This wine offers a pretty green hue with scents of fresh tropical fruit. The sophisticated, fruity mouth contains a bit of pear and heavy green apple. This wine finishes with a striking resemblance to tangelos with a lovely, subtle hint of honey and lemon. Pair this wine with grilled pineapple and chicken skewers.
Belhurst Chardonnay, 2007
This fantastic Chardonnay starts with a light nose of buttery popcorn with toasted chestnut. The first taste is a pretty orange blossom that leads to a tart tangerine mouth flavor. The refreshing finish is full of green apple skin. This wine pairs well with chicken pineapple skewers, Caesar salad with shrimp or Sheppard's pie. This Pinot Grigio starts with a beautiful white blossom nose full of elderberry and floral notes. The clean, crisp nose leads into a mouth of lemon zest layered with citrus fruit. The center of the mouth gives a strong mineral flavor. The fine finish is completed with white peach and herbaceous notes. Pairs well with many seafood appetizers in light white sauces, lightly spiced Asian dishes, grilled calamari and peach pie.
Belhurst Naturel Sparkling Wine Our delicious sparkling wine has a nose of lemon zest. The delicate bubbles give way to a creamy mouth-feel with a unique herbaceous quality before a burst of fruit. The dry flavors linger with hints of citrus and cantaloupe. Lots of nice toasty oak on the finish. Our refreshing Sparkling Wine is great to enjoy on its own or pairs well with creamy chesses, deep fried plantains or Chicken a la King. Belhurst Dry Rosé, 2007
This crisp, dry wine offers a pretty, floral nose. The mouth starts with pollen and bubble gum, then opens to an essence of rhubarb and baker’s yeast. The lingering, dry finish is full of white blossoms. This wine pairs well with chips and mango salsa, grilled chicken and pineapple kabobs and fruity pastries, crisps and cobblers.
Belhurst Syrah, 2007 - SOLD OUT
This Syrah will awaken your senses with notes of black pepper on the nose with nuances of black fruit. With very soft velvet-like tannins, the mouthfeel is a chewy texture which shows tar and tobacco. The finish has a spicy pomegranate flavor with hints of blueberries. A tasty and impressive wine, this Syrah pairs well with roast duck in plum sauce, quail, beef dishes, cracked pepper steak and tomato or highly seasoned sauces.
Belhurst Pinot Noir, 2007 - SOLD OUT Aged in oak barrels for 10 months, this ruby colored Pinot Noir shows pink hues which give way to its soft tannins. This wine is young, but will age nicely to be a full bodied red. Nutmeg and black cherry dominate the flavors. The finish has a unique talc-like texture begging a second sip.
Belhurst Pinot Noir, 2008 The nose of this Pinot Noir is initially grassy with cocoa overtones, scents of cedar and clove. As the wine opens up, there are hints of chewy tobacco and subtle black cherry and a slight taste of pepper, which finishes with brisk frontal tannins. The crisp, fruity mouth delivers a silky cranberry taste, with a light violet finish that promises an exciting future. Partner this Excellent Pinot Noir with lamb kebabs, cedar plank grilled salmon, beef stroganoff and bouillabaisse. For dessert - Strawberry Chantilly.
Belhurst Cabernet Sauvignon, 2006 The nose is lightly smoky, then offering layers of intense fig. You'll discover the nuance of currant which returns in the finish. The bright and fruity mouth opens to a rich texture offering quite a long, smooth finish. The center of the mouth has black raspberry and a subtle cherry. The finish is beautifully soft with hints of vanilla. Partner this Excellent Cabernet Sauvignon with steaks, especially those rubbed in a coffee or chocolate marinade. Strong enough to be served with a heavy pasta bolognaise dish, yet soft enough to pair with lamb.
Belhurst Cabernet Franc, 2006 The woody, smokey nose gives the illusion of an earthy wine. Yet, as you dive into the flavors a burst of sharp Bing cherry starts off the mouth, then leads into a mix of white pepper and chocolate. The hearty, ruby red colors offer a chewy type wine that brings back a mixture of the earth and fruit in the finish. This wine also delivers a green vegetative long finish which aids in a beautiful aging process. A wonderful food friendly wine!
Belhurst Trio, 2006 This rich blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot shows a dark garnet color. The nose will awaken you with juicy black fresh fruits and a hint of Anisette. With a strong and sophisticated mouth feel, this wine is chewy with a touch of leather and a long smooth finish. Pair this red with Penne a la Vodka or a smoked tomato sauce. Or enjoy with any steak served with caramelized onions.
Belhurst Merlot, 2005 - SOLD OUT The complex nose of our Merlot ‘05 has strong scents of smoke and cedar. As you enter into the mouthfeel a robust, chewy black cherry flavor is gained. The finish carries the flavors through into many different black fruit style notes. The tight dry finish is what allows this wine to be laid down for years to come. This particular vintage more closely resembles the taste of a West coast Cabernet rather than an East coast Merlot.
Belhurst Merlot, 2007 This may be the best Merlot you ever taste! The nose is full of smoke and cedar along with some earthiness. The mouth gives hints of black cherry while continuing with a good amount of cedar. In the finish, the black cherry ripens and exits with a pressed coco nuance. This Merlot pairs well with grilled steaks, hearty beef based stews and chocolate cakes.
Belhurst Cayuga, 2008 The nose of this Cayuga first gives the scent of gritty pear, then a light honeysuckle scent that carries through in the mouth flavor. This tasty, sweet wine shows white peach and apricot in the center of the mouth with hints of pineapple and more tropical fruit on the finish. Pair this wine with baked brie and green apples, grilled chicken with sweet and sour sauce, sushi and rare tuna. For dessert, crepes in a light cream sauce with fruit.
